Usually for people, taking care of their health is never a priority. We take our immunity for granted but it is only when illness strikes that people realize their well being is their number one asset. It’s the cornerstone on which you create your life.

Taking care of health, significantly improves the quality of life and is the key to living a happy, fulfilled life.

Numerous factors contribute to being healthy and building a stronger immune system. It’s important to develop a holistic, practical plan or routine that matches your lifestyle and needs. There are various ways you can strengthen your health, create a strong base and be your best self.

You can boost your immunity and health by taking care of the following aspects:

Diet:

Make sure that you are eating a balanced diet that is right for you. A healthy diet is essential for good health and nutrition. It protects you against many chronic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes and other lifestyle diseases. Organic food is a smarter choice to include in the diet since it is grown without the use of artificial chemicals, hormones, antibiotics or genetically modified organisms. Organic food also does not contain any artificial food additives, sweeteners, preservatives, coloring, flavoring and mono sodium glutamate (MSG). You should also consume food that is rich in antioxidants. Several studies have found that organic foods generally contain higher levels of anti-oxidants and certain micro nutrients. Turmeric, Green Tea and Yogurt are excellent sources of antioxidants. Additionally, try to increase your intake of Vitamin C.

Physical Activity:

There are a number of ways you can indulge in a physical activity like joining the gym, yoga, HIIT, walk, run etc.  It will be different for everybody, depending on physical capacity, personal preference, lifestyle, commitment, time and other aspects. Finding a comfortable and fun way to get some exercise into your routine is essential. Doing cardio exercises everyday aids and improves the circulation of blood flow throughout your body. Finding the right exercise routine can take a little trial and error and it might be worth talking to a coach or mentor to help you develop a plan that suits your lifestyle.

Sleep:

Sleep is the most ignored yet critical component of the overall health and wellbeing of any person. Getting 7 – 8 hours of sleep every day is imperative. Sleep is necessary as it helps the body to heal, refresh, and be ready and prepared for the next day. Adequate rest can also help avoid unnecessary weight gain, heart disease and other lifestyle diseases. Getting enough sleep has become incredibly important due to continuous exposure to blue light from our device screens.

Relaxation:

Modern science and medicine are finding new evidence every day that shows the harmful effects of stress on our bodies and minds. There are many ways to relax and de-stress. It can be meditation, reading a book, leisurely stroll or listening to good music. Priority is to make a routine for some ‘me time’ and commit to your decision; make a plan and stick to it.

Hydration:

Drinking enough water and keeping your body hydrated is important as it carries oxygen to all the cells of the body. Water also detoxifies the body. The recommended amount of intake is approximately 2 liters of water each day. An adult human body has 60% water.

Healthy habits are hard to develop and often require changing your mind-set. But if you’re willing to make sacrifices to better your health, the impact can be far-reaching regardless of your age or gender.

The main purpose of your immune system is to protect your body from viruses and bacteria. Without it, they’d have free reign and you’d be constantly falling ill. Your immune system works by recognizing the difference between your body’s cells and alien cells, allowing it to destroy any that could be potentially harmful.

It’s vital that your immune system is in the best condition if you want to stay as safe as possible. It’s a long-term process as you need to take care of your health every single day and you won’t alter your lifestyle and behavior overnight so be patient and take it one day at a time.

In conclusion, taking care of your health is a preventative course of action to stay hale and hearty. After all, prevention is better than cure!
